An On Time God (so they say) to Fight For You

Who's fight is it?  Do I have to fight?
Have you heard folks say stand still and God will fight your battles?
I once stood still and got my rear end kicked.
If you were being honest, have there been times in which you believed God could have showed up, a little earlier than He did?
